4. Animal welfare and organic materials
When we use nature's own resources, we do so in a sustainable and ethical manner. All our suppliers are required to follow national and international legislation regarding animal welfare. Breeders and all parties involved in handling animals must follow the Five Freedoms as defined by the EU's Farm Animal Welfare Council/World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
We use only duck down that is certified according to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) in our products. This means that our down and feathers are by-products of the food industry and do not come from farms practicing "live-plucking" or force-feeding (foie gras). RDS also covers the holistic approach to ensure the well-being of the birds.
For design details in our products, we exclusively use synthetic fur and synthetic leather.
